Words are beyond the spirit that EarlyNew has inherited from her music soul in making this album.

We have tried to define by every appropriate term for this album, somehow ending up with the wonders of variety of choices. Then we decide to leave it open for music lovers to feel how the music is connecting to them in its most natural way.

Perhaps what we can do to make up for this missing of self definition, is provide you with some BEHIND THE SCENES happenings. Could this be much more fun?

Here we go -

Since 2004 Autumn season, EarlyNew made her decision in recording her songs. Back then all she knew to do was recording those songs that were well kept for almost too long. As she could remember, that winter was especially cold and freezing, and yet she simply had to follow her heart to proceed with the idea of JUST DO IT and then, what happened as follows was just going as it had been till now.

EarlyNew is one kind of DO IT YOUSELF type musician. She wasn't meant to be. Just based on an impulse and circumstances that weren't so suitable to support her musical nature, all she could do was just plunge into the unlimited ocean sea, making it done.

In all, Something Above All, in EarlyNew's eyes and journey so far, is the most conscientiously produced work which has developed the spirit of indie music production to its extreme that has brought EarlyNew's efforts widely from composing, arrangeing, engineering, and even promotion part to its possibility.

She wants to dedicate warm gratitude to this full-of-tears- tears-joys-blessings encounter with these aspects in her body that she herself would not know have been existing ever as from a little child girl.

And till now, we could just congratulate on her that she did do it and make it - for her music to be listened.

The album - TRAVELER TAKE IT EASY - is a special edition of EarlyNew's personal little sharing on low-five quality album production.

Songs were recorded at different times and mood. Even she could not sort out exactly when and where for which song to be recorded. One thing to be sure is that they were made to record under a very basic circumstance just out of sketching, yet in a more serious way. Roughly, as she could barely remember, some were recorded in year 2003. Some were in 2004. And some were in 2007. Most of the songs were written as of around year 1999 or so.

Therefore, literally this album is a so-called TRIBUTE ALBUM to EarlyNew's  own definition, which, in her pursuing of being honest with where her growth came from and where her mood has been, is more or less in memory of her imperfection.

A tribute album for her own imperfection - to EarlyNew's own life latitude ; or for a further generally broader view, it is a tribute for the imperfection bestowed upon in one's particular life - to everyone's unique life latitude -

Imperfection on recording circumstances. Imperfection on how EarlyNew has always wanted to record her music in a well conditioned nice place.

Yet, since this is an act of album production in memory of the imperfection EarlyNew was given, she certainly has accepted all the imperfect parts in every corner of it.

Enthusastic to know more about EarlyNew's confession on how musically decisions were made by her to delight herself further to music lovers in future? Also only until which moment - she began to listen to many great Jazz albums - that was a point when she was delightlly drawn to sophiscated music scenes - which naturally turned on the fire inside that drove her to want to re-learn piano.

Quite some stories occured during this period when she searched for being capable of playing the music she loves. Anyhow, she did take one or two lessons, but it was either she did not feel right in that learning class, or some things took her time off again Soon then this pursuing was postponed right away and even for quite several years she was disconnected wtih the shiny piano set due to some life factors.


Guitar learning journey

Until 1996, magically, she all of a sudden had a desire to learn guitar. At then the one she picked up was a classical  one, and also started to learn from a flamenco guitar teacher for seven lessons - yes 7 hours - one hour per class, 7 times she took - then however, just soon again, she had to relocate to another city and had to leave that place where she took her guitar class after the very seven lessons - therefore this guitar learning experience from a pro teacher was postponed - again.

And yet, though, she still strummed the strings from time to time as a hobby back then. And right as from this time period, she started a self learning journey in having basic guitar skills to a better extent. One reason for this self-pioneering journey possibly is that she did not get a chance or make the time to meet up with a teacher in the city she moved afterwards, and the other reason could be that she seemed to enjoy the self strumming fun on the strings, just freely and spontaneously.

Then, later on, around 1997, she started to compose her first song with guitar.


The embarking on of songwriting and composing

That guitar composition journey was embarked around 1997-8. Oh, no. Actually her first music composition was made very early already while she took the piano lesson, which was composed on a piano in around 1991. However, that only and very ancient composition of Early's piano work was simply missing in the lost times. And, , does she write any song even earlier? She seems not to be sure and remember. Yet officially, it was since 1997 then she consistently started to write till now.

So there she goes - there she goes again - she continued to compose by guitar, and ever since then, quite a couple of songs were created by in her leisure time at her tiny home base, just after her daily work life in the concrete building. Most of songs from her album Something Above All and Angels See Angels were quite of the composition written then around that period of time. And most of which were well kept in her mind, and not prepared to be placed into recording yet only until the winter time in late 2004.


Recording Journey

EarlyNew is somehow still on the way to dig it further on realization of this interesting searching, for an ongoing changeing answer -

That is to say, to renew by a new style for these fifteen pieces, after they were born for nearly nine years - or even earlier- 

In all, that was the year, 1999, when Early has embarked on the thread of journey, little by little.

Though, in contrast to the following albums she proiduced - Something Above All, Traveler Take It Easy, and Angels See Angels - this conceptual album One As One seems waiting for a deeper description to pinpoint. Hence we lay this expectation to music lovers one day for what elements, relation and emotions they are going to be related in this album.


Instrumental works

Later on in recent years, EarlyNew began to compose instrumental music. Among them, some of which are compiled in the album Traveler Take It Easy. Apart from the stories this album had told through the songs part, the pure instrumental music recorded in low-fi surroundings, being frozen eternally in that digital format already, can also felt by music lovers who enjoy the lo-fi fun of way of listening.

Besides writing songs pieces as one love, intrumental music is also the fondest enjoyment in EarlyNew's music joyride. Tracing back, the great influence from world music, guitar music, or ensemble music must have brought her a magic feeling that usually calms her or excites her to various wonderlands.

About the low-fi works being selected into the compilation of the album, there was a process going on in EarlyNew's mind at a earlier time.

Till her composition ability had grown more mature, she absolutely did not satisfy herself in convincing her own perception at then about what a good music recording workpiece should be sounded like sonically - -

Sonic expression to the extreme beauty is how EarlyNew has always be thrilled while listening good instrumental music - this influence actually set a standard there for her on how her original instrumental music shall be recorded, which she always awaits a good circumstance and a good timing -

However, interesting enough that, she has not made this principle changed until the times she realized every artist shall follow what's given to him/her in one's particular living circmstance - at least for her as a self-supporting artist -

She did not feel degraded anymore in the sonic presentation and expression once she realized how she's been also blessed for at least, these little pieces of instrumental music of her very own, even while all that motivation at that time was simply to keep them down at first thought -

It is a blessing indeed that she had compiled these little pearls of imperfect works recorded back then during 2003 through 2007 into the album Traveler Take It Easy -

Maybe by tracing back, an artist could realize some unspoken and mysterious thought behind in contrast to while he/she might not have known how to exprese in between the recording process -


Pop influence and multiple styles infuse

And . . , do we forget to mention that the very first musical inspiration of EarlyNew's very own, comes from a tiny radio set that was once laid aside in that small space where she lived since childhood, and that radio actually brought her to be inspired by many great music -

That radio, that accompanied her since little, is a magic wind that started it all -

By reminiscing, those little root of various styles of music have landed in her body cell ever since then, and hidden well remaining undiscovered just until some unexpected findings came up -

For EarlyNew it felt not easy to write a self portrait for the initial year while everything is truly way of d-i-y, so we just expect that her human brain can naturally handle that wonderous mind to tell things behind the scenes more neatly in order not to fall behind the time machine that clocks faster and faster -

Alright. The moment now is year 2009 - mid January. Let's start first to reflect these great musicians and artists in history who accompanied EarlyNew on her lovely music journey ever.

Well. When it comes to that important influence for EarlyNew, it always turns out to be like - speechless - in a good way. Mr. Stevie Wonder is a music legend beyond words to describe. Now only his music, but most importantly his spirits also has been a great part of influences to EarlyNew Since her natural delving into the music land!

Can we say it now - hush, hush, hush - that a little little, or big enough - dream of EarlyNew's is to sing with Stevie Wonder in a concert one day - - !
